The community of Waldport on Alsea Bay is a fishing and crabbing mecca. The Alsea Bay Bridge Interpretive Center is also worth a visit.
Seal Rock State Park offers beach access and restrooms and Lost Creek State Park has a paved trail to the beach for wheelchair access.
The Hatfield Marine Science Center offers informative displays and intriguing marine animals. Oregon Coast Aquarium, one of Oregon's most popular attractions, is located next door. The historic Yaquina Bay Bridge was dedicated in 1936. The Yaquina Bay Lighthouse at the north end of the bridge is a state park and home to a museum.
From Corvallis, Oregon Continuing north on Highway 101 From Portland, Oregon Tillamook is home to Oregon's largest cheese factory, the Tillamook Cheese factory. The Blue Heron Cheese Factory, Tillamook County Pioneer Museum and Blimp Hangar Museum are also enjoyable places to stop. Take the Three Capes Scenic Loop and discover the Octopus Tree, the Lighthouse at Cape Meares, Three Arch Rocks National Wildlife Refuge at Oceanside and dory boat launching from Pacific City. Back on Highway 101, you'll reach Neskowin, one of the coast's oldest towns.
From Salem, Oregon Just north of WorldMark at Gleneden, your other Oregon Coast resort, is Salishan Lodge and the Marketplace at Salishan, an intriguing collection of shops.
Boiler Bay State Park gets its name from a small freighter than sank in 1910. Its boiler washed ashore and has remained there to this day. The wayside has picnic facilities and fine photo opportunities.
At Otter Rock, you'll find Devils Punch Bowl State park, named for the collapsed caldera that fills with water at high tide.
At Depoe Bay, enjoy shopping, whale watching and storm watching from one of its many restaurants.
